BMI returns to Fiji!

This November, BMI will be sending a team back to Sigatoka, Fiji. Our team is excited to return after a 3 year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic. BMI plans to take full advantage of our time on the island and are planning for days full of heavy patient loads and surgeries thanks to Dr. Barker, Dr. Schmitz, and Dr. Castrovinci. Check back for more information about the impact of our trip!

In June 2023, BMI sent a team of 24 to Corozal, Belize. During their 5 clinic days the team was able to see 491 patients. Of those patients, 264 received sight through prescription glasses. The surgical team also contributed 45 cataract surgeries and 18 pterygium surgeries. The need for quality eye care in this part of Belize is great and preparations are already underway for our next trip to Belize in February 2024.
